Nutritional adaptation of some Colombian Indians

In an attempt to suggest the relationships among cultural practices, the limitations of the environment, and nutrition to on‐going human evolution, a series of synopses of information on Colombian Indian groups was presented. These groups consisted of the Chocó, Kógi, Ika, Motilón, Guajiro, Guahibo, and Cubeo. Although there is little useful data available, this report does indicate that these Indians depend on agricultural methods for a substantial portion of their diet. Furthermore, this study suggests the framework necessary for future studies of nutrition and its effects on human evolution
