The only reprint of Nebrija's Gramática castellana (1492) issued before the 20th century was published in the 18th century. This has been called the «contrahecha» edition because it imitated or at least attempted (somewhat crudely) to forge the original. The responsabibility for that specific edition has traditionally been allocated to Count Saceda. This study questions this allocation and reveals the role played by the Spanish Royal Academy, at least concerning the circulation of copies of the work among its members
