The abundance and ancientness of causa mortis acts in Marseille allows one to observe at the end of the Thirteenth-century and the beginning of the Fourteenth-century the peculiar quality of the relationships woven between testatrix from the best society and representatives of one of the most popular beggar families of this port city, the Franciscans. These « peculiar liaisons » are expressed by the choice of burial place, legatees, confessors and executors
