The Magistrates of the Parlement of Toulouse during the League. From the beginning the civil wars, the Parlement of Toulouse was a pole of catholic zeal. The attack was unfolded by a massive self-administered purge, by virulent opposition to the pacification edicts and by control of the different leagues that bloomed from 1561. From 1585, the magistrates' zeal was in contradiction with service to the monarch. In February 1589, a lone judge obeyed the transfer towards a faithful city while royalist judges were assassinated.
