Unlike immigrants from Brittany and Bearn in the maritime cities of the Spanish Levant, those from Marseilles have not received the same attention, especially in the seventeenth and first half of the eighteenth centuries. This study, which is based on archival documents from the Spanish regions of Valencia and Murcia, focuses on merchant actors from Marseille living and trading in Alicante and Cartagena. It examines particularly their commercial activities, such as business and difficulties in money transfers by means of letters of payment or inheritances and legacies
