In various surveys of the late XVth Century, thanks mainly to the mentions of neighbouring plots, and to area figures, appear the main features of the rural landscape in the Limousin and Marche. Local variations can also be detected, as well as in the internal organization of the tenure (scattered or one-block) and in the hierarchy of goods and persons
