Ada Cambridge's novels have often been grouped, for discussion, into those serialised in issues of the Australasian in the 1870s and 1880s, and those published later in book form, usually in London. But now indexing of serial fiction in Australian newspapers is starting to reveal that evaluations of Ada Cambridge as novelist need to take note of serials in other papers besides the Australasian. It appears that the writer's 'little boom on the Australian press', as she terms the early period (in Thirty Years in Australia, London, 1938, p. 186), extended at least to the Age (Melbourne) and the Sydney Mail. Six more items have come to light, four of them apparently not generally known
