SINCE compiling my article on the traditional fairy legend of 'The Broken Peel' (Folklore 91, 1980:ii, 173-92), my attention has been drawn to some further examples of this motif from Germany and Poland. I am grateful for the assistance of Lotte Motz, who kindly provided me with this additional material from areas not listed in the Stith Thompson Motif Index, which is valuable both in supporting my argument and in providing examples of the practice on which, I have argued, the legend is based. These further instances are as follows
Aesthetics · Argument (complex analysis · Art · Art history · Folklore · Legend · Literature · Motif (music · Classics · Folklore, Mythology, and Literature Studies · Historical and Archaeological Studies · History · Philosophy · Religious Studies and Spiritual Practices
