Les AA. etudient la maniere (dans les 110 cas rencontres) dont a ete mentionne le livre de Iona et Peter Opie « The lore and language of schoolchildren ». Si les revues consacrees aux traditions populaires ont davantage cite cet ouvrage, les revues de sciences sociales ne l'ont pas omis. Il semblerait que ce travail soit considere comme une reference par ceux qui etudient les coutumes enfantines, (trop) peu d'articles le critiquant
