Matthias EgelerMatthias Egeler is a Privatdozent at the Ludwig-Maximilians-University Munich, where he holds a Heisenberg Fellowship of the Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft. His research focuses on religious history, landscape, and cultural contact in Northwest Atlantic Europe, especially Ireland and Iceland. Recent publications include the books Atlantic Outlooks on Being at Home: Gaelic Place-Lore and the Construction of a Sense of Place in Medieval Iceland (2018) and Islands in the West. Classical Myth and the Medieval Norse and Irish Geographical Imagination (2017). His edited volumes include Landscape and Myth in North-Western Europe (2019) and, with Stefanie Gropper, Dreaming of a Glacier: Snæfellsjökull in a Geocritical Perspective (2020)
