The marketing of crops and livestock has been sadly neglected by agricultural geographers. Adopting a behavioural perspective, this paper examines the importance of different marketing channels to horticulturists in the Vale of Evesham. Local and distant markets are most important, whilst both direct marketing and such macro-marketing channels as co-operatives and contracts are relatively underused. The choice of outlet is, in part, related to the location of holdings within the Vale, but a few relationships existed with other farm and farmer characteristics. A brief resume of farmers' attitudes helps to unravel the complexities of horticultural marketing within the area
