Mismanaged cases are the accidents of medical care. As with other accidents, investigation may reveal recurrent patterns, and accidents that are predictable are prevented. In a file of cases studied there is a recurring pattern which has led to an hypothesis linking the form of the mismanagements with the doctor's work situation
