Algeria's current crisis has found its way to the front pages of many U.S. and European newspapers and magazines. Not surprisingly, the situation of Algerian women within that crisis and the assault on their rights by Algerian Muslim fundamentalists do not figure as central issues in the media portrayal of this moment in Algerian history.
