The Kriesel Cache originally consisted of 74 lanceolate-shaped silicified sandstone bifaces from western Wisconsin. These are interpreted as preforms relating to the Agate Basin complex. Analysis of metric attributes from the 73 bifaces remaining in the collection since its recovery in 1968 are contrasted to the complete projectile points reported from the Agate Basin type site and highlight the effects of reworking on Agate Basin points. This paper also examines the functional role of the Kriesel Cache, and its contribution to the discussion concerning Late Paleoindian caching behavior in the western Great Lakes region
