The paper is mainly a description of the Late Woodland pottery in the Arney Collection. Three problems are considered: the distinction between the ceramics associated with the Boone Focus and the Moreau Focus of central Missouri, the relationship of the ceramic material of those foci with that described for the Highland Aspect and an assessment of the validity of the Moreau Focus, The pottery of the Arney collection is compared to the ceramics described by Upp, Hermann and others. The pottery from the Arney sites is described in detail and found to be the same as the pottery of the Moreau Focus. It is concluded that there is little difference between the ceramics of the Moreau and Boone foci and that they are, in all probability, the same. The ceramics of the central Missouri region are different from the ceramics of the Highland Aspect and can be easily distinguished by differences in the size of the lime stone tempe ring particles found in both kinds
