St-Nizier plateau situated at the confluence point of the two big Isère and Drac-Romanche quaternary glaciers is covered with morainic deposits in a discontinuous way. The sedimentological and mineralogical study of these slope morainal deposits makes it clear that most of the plateau bas been worked by the ices of the Isère glacier whereas the influence of the Drac-Romanche glacier was decisive in that part only at the end of the disglaciation period and on the low slopes giving way up to the plateau
