Il problema dell’organizzazione del commercio arcaico è stato rilanciato di recente da due ampi saggi di B. Bravo, apparsi rispettivamente nel n.° 1 (1974) e n.° 3 (1977) dei Dialogues d’Histoire Ancienne, che hanno già trovato una prima eco nel saggio di J. Velissaropoulos sull’emporion apparso sempre nel n.° 3 della rivista in questione. 2Le conclusioni cui il Bravo è pervenuto sono le seguenti: in età arcaica non si dà commercio regolare senza regolare surplus e quindi senza l’intervento dell’aristocrazia fondiaria; a questa il commercio fa capo sia per quanto attiene al possesso delle navi sia per quanto attiene al possesso dei beni da riservare agli scambi
