The new oracular plates from Dodona which have been recently published confirm the conclusions that we had drawn from a more restricted corpus: written answers of the oracle constitute exceptional cases. The new corpus contains very interesting cases, especially from a historical point of view. It shows once more that the priests of Dodona were very skilled illusionists who were giving appropriate answers to the consultants while pretending that they had not read their questions, as if they were directly inspired by Zeus Naios. We understand better why the priests were reluctant to leave a written trace of their answers
