The distribution of visual reaction times made by six normal and six schizophrenic subjects were found to be multi‐modal with peaks in general 0·1 sec. apart. These results are discussed in the light of a cortico‐thalamic reverberatory mechanism whose relevance in the light of other psychological experiments is considered
