The contribution of unpaid female family labour to agriculture in India is often overlooked, despite its significant impact on rural economies. Using household-level data from NSSO-SAS (2018-19) and employing an Endogenous Switching Regression (ESR) model, this study finds that households without unpaid female family labour experience cultivation income that is approximately one-third lower. This finding underlines the role of unpaid female family labour in agricultural productivity
