Vito Marcantonio is virtually read out of the Party because he is accused of playing footie with the Communists, our strongest allies in this war. On the other hand, another section of the Party in Putnam and Orange Counties gives a thundering vote of approval to Ham Fish, whose monkeyshines with the Nazis, our enemies, are a matter of record. Sympathy with an ally gets Marcantonio a boot in the pants. Ham's cheek-by-jowling with Nazi elements doesn't even bring him a slap on the wrist. You figure it out.-RICHARD HANSER
