The FLES Workshop in the College of Education

Incidentally, the workshop was sponsored jointly by the Department of Foreign Languages and the School of Teacher Training which, I am pleased to report, now requires an eight-hour Spanish course of all its majors in Elementary Education. This cour e is especially designed to meet the peculiar needs f such teachers in this bilingual state where hundreds of children enter the first grade not knowing a word of English. CARL A. TYRE
