Etude philologique d'un passage (8-16) du chapitre 6 de la Chāndogy Upanisad. Ce passage raconte l'enseignement que donne Uddākala a son fils Svetateku sous forme de parabole. Recourant ainsi a l'exemple du sel se dissolvant dns l'eau et a d'autres analogies, il entend dinstruire son fils sur le sommeil et sur la mort, sur le sat et sur l'atman, le Soi plus petit qu'un atome mais plus grand que l'Univers
