Our bodies their battlefield is an extraordinarily powerful account of women's suffering in war. Bringing together testimonies of abuse from wartime rape survivors around the world, renowned foreign correspondent Christina Lamb exposes the history of this most neglected war crime. Lamb approaches her subject in a way that still seems radical to the study of war: that is, to write about conflict in a way that centres women rather than men. Having spent years reporting on conflicts from across the globe, Lamb laments the infrequency with which women's voices are heard, and sets out to rectify this by recounting stories that tell the forgotten history of women's experiences, women's pain and the role of women as agents of change. Lamb travels the world collecting testimonies from survivors, including Yazidi women and girls captured by the Islamic State in Iraq and Syria (ISIS); schoolgirls abducted by Boko Haram; Rohingya women raped
