Initiatives by various religious coordinating groups have been quietly shaping aspects of global policy in respect of the geological epoch known as the Anthropocene. In recent years, this fascinating area of environmental and ecological science has become the subject of various investigations by the academic community. One such work is Sherrie Steiner's Moral pressure for responsible globalization. Steiner is interested in how the world's religious communities coordinate and engage in global politics. Her book addresses the intersection of several opposites: religion, politics, philosophy, global governance and the environment (Anthropocene). It is here that old religious and philosophical questions meet modern scientific realities: the possible extinction of man and how it can be avoided.
