Change with the Earth in Mind
We designed and implemented a clay art-making workshop with teacher candidates called Change with the Earth in Mind, focused on listening to the Earth. Drawing on Bentz’s (Bentz, J. (2020). Behind the Scenes of Inuit Curriculum Development in Nunavut, 2000-2013
In this article we examine the provision of curriculum in Nunavut between 2000 and 2013. During this time the Government of Nunavut established a mandate to ensure all curriculum from Kindergarten through Grade 12 was founded onInuit Qaujimajatuqangit(IQ) and supported bilingualism. Reciprocity in Indigenous Educational Research
With questions about what it means to conduct educational research in Indigenous contexts based on reciprocal relationships, we review key contributions to the literature from Indigenous and qualitative methodologists. We identify four dimensions of reciprocity, extending the notion of reciprocity as transaction or compensation. To design research that fulfills decolonizing commitments, we find resonance with the conceptualization of reciprocity …
