Multi-item anthropometry of the foot in Japanese aged 7 to 15
7歳~15歳の男子545名、女子541名の右足について、長径12項目、高径2項目、幅径•周径各1項目の生体計測を行い、各計測値および示数値(プロポーション)の年齢推移とその性差について検討した。踵から指端や中足端までの長さおよび甲の高さの成長は男女とも12歳までほぼ並行するが、男子は13歳でスパートし、女子は12歳でほぼ成長が止まる。足幅では女子も14歳まで成長がつづく(男子は不明)。足根部の長さは9歳前後から男子が女子をしのぐようになり、以後性差は漸増する。この結果、男子は女子よりも足根部が相対的にやや長い。指節部の長さは、母指を除き、男女とも思春期頃から相対的に長くなる。また、女子は男子に較べ、外側指が相対的にやや長い。身長に対する足の大きさ(比足長)は思春期前後から男子が女子を上まわりつつ漸減し、性差は加齢とともに強まる。1950年代の資料との比較から、とくに女子において足の成長の早熟化傾向が見出された
