Documenting Behavioral Health Needs in an Urban Setting
Most local communities lack the capacity to conduct behavioral health needs assessments. The purpose of this paper is to describe a mixed-methods approach to estimate the behavioral health needs in St. Louis, MO. This exploratory study suggests that continuance of the therapeutic relationship is more the responsibility of the clinician than of the patient. Two interactional variables--stimulus-response congruence and content relevance--were operationalized and their effect on patient continuance tested. This study assessed the racial attitudes and perceptions of causal events of 174 graduate students at the time of their entry to social work training. Patient and Family Satisfaction with Discharge Plans
This study explored factors affecting patient and family satisfaction with discharge plans, an outcome of discharge planning provided by the hospital department of social work. Adequacy of discharge plans was rated by 126 patients and 130 family members within 24 hours before hospital discharge.
