The Path of Church in Civil Society
본문은 독일 개신교 총회의장으로 재직하며 시민사회 속에서 공공신학의 관철을 추구했던 후버의 신학적 방향정립을 살펴보는 것을 목적으로 한다. 이러한 주제에 따라 후버가 수행했던 시민사회속의 교회의 성찰, 다양성 속의 일치와 소통적 자유의 개념 정립, 교회의 행로 모색의 반성을 총체적으로 살펴보고 있다. 또한 후버의 신학을 살펴보는 작업을 통해 지난 20여 년간 진행되었던 독일개신교회의 공공신학의 행로를 파악하는데 도움을 얻고자 하고 있다. 후버는 그의 뒤를 이어 현재 독일개신교회(EKD) 총회의장으로 재직하고 있는 베드포드-슈트롬과 함께 반 세기 가까운 시간동안 독일 개신교회의 공공신학의 방향을 정립하는데 기여했다. 2021년 현재의 시점에서 평가할 때, 시민사회의 도래 속에 방향정립을 시도했던 후버의 신학적 모색은 교회의 핵심적인 위임의 확인과 사회적 중재자로서의 역할을 감당하는데 기여했다고 볼…
A Quest for the Way of a Living Church
본문은 20세기 세계 신학계에서 저항정신의 빛을 비춰준 교회로 존중을 받는 고백교회의 전통과 유산에 대해 살펴보고 있다. 나치정권의 억압시기, 종전의 혼란과 분단시기, 동독 정권 아래에서의 고난의 시기에 고백교회가 보여주었던 ‘핵심교회’로서의 전통은 무엇이었는지 역사적, 교회론적 관점에서 살펴보는 것을 목적으로 한다. 나치 집권기 저항운동으로 시작된 독일 고백교회운동은 바르멘 신학선언과 함께 혼돈의 시대에 역사적 중심역할을 수행했던 것으로 받아 들여져 왔다. 본문은 이러한 고백교회의 중심적 측면에 대해 살펴보면서, 역사속의 교회로서 고백교회가 가질 수밖에 없었던 한계와 고민, 그리고 극복의 모습에 대해서 함께 살펴보는 것을 목표로 하고 있다. 한편으로 지상의 전투하는 교회로서 고백교회는 오판과 내분, 그리고 반목을 보여주기도 했다. 이러한 모습은 특히 “사회주의 속의 교회”의 정책을 추진하는 가…
