    The biological features of all pregnant women and newborn infants in a typical rural village of Guatemala have been studied form 1964 to the present; 458 pregnancied have been analysed.     While studying the ecology of fetal malnutrition, levels of cord serum IgM were determined by radial immuno‐diffusion in cord blood taken from seven groups of newborns. Group 1 was selected among the high socioeconomic Peruvian urban population.
