The prevalence of bullying among children, and the sometimes tragic consequences as a result, has become a major concern in schools. This study investigated how an older sibling, with an identified emotional disturbance, responded to a younger sibling who had experienced some form of peer bullying in school. Maternal and Paternal Stress in Families With School-Aged Children With Disabilities
This study examined stress factors in families with a school-aged child with a disability. Path analyses revealed that children's demandingness and neediness for care was related more to maternal stress and that child's acceptability was related more to paternal stress. Effects of day care on preschool sex-role development
Affiliative, aggressive, and problem-solving types of behavior were analyzed in middle-class preschoolers, 53 boys and 52 girls, grouped by length of time in day care. Boys were observed to be significantly more aggressive toward peers, but no differences between boys' and girls' aggressive or affiliative ratings were attributable to differential effects of time of entry into day care
Prenatal intervention and support for low-income fathers
The focus of this study was to determine the effectiveness of prenatal intervention with low socioeconomic, first-time fathers whose partners were experiencing a high- or low-risk pregnancy. Of the 67 men, who were recruited by their partners, half were randomly assigned to participate in an intervention program designed to acquaint fathers-to-be with information, insights, and clinically appropriate techniques in responsive care for infants. Statistics on the increasing incidence of teenage pregnancy are presented (from 92000 in 1960 to 221400 in 1974). The problems of adolescent pregnancy are social relational maturational and medical. Sex education should be provided for teenagers. Counseling should be given to teen mothers and particularly advice on family planning given to help the teenager avoid a repeat unwanted pregnancy

A group of home-reared children and a group of children who had been enrolled in an infant day care center were examined at 30 months of age for differences in child-mother and mother-child attachment patterns.
