In recent years, anthropologists have increasingly been asked to contribute their knowledge and skills to the training of teachers and administrators for positions in the public schools. While anthropologists have always taught their own successors in anthropology, it is still rare for them to give serious attention to the preparation of non-anthropological teachers and administrators for the vast educational bureaucracy that attends to the formal socialization and enculturation of the youth of our society
