Sociologie de la science et relativisme

En moins d'une quinzaine d'annees, le point de vue relativiste a pris une place importante dans les etudes et les reflexions sur la science, suscitant des travaux theoriques, des recherches empiriques, et aussi des controverses violentes. Il a introduit dans la sociologie des problemes qui en etaient exclus, reserves 1'epistemologie. II a change, ou tente de changer, l'image dominante de la science, faisant apparaitre I'activite scientifique, et donc les affirmations qu'elle produit et qui pretendent titre des connaissances valides, comme moms assurees, moms rationnellement fondees, et plus dependantes du contexte social qu'on ne 1'admet habituellement
