This paper presents the results of an online survey studying both salience and evaluation of specific morphosyntactic and semantic features in Germany, Austria and Switzerland. While a structural separation of these two languages can be observed from a historical point of view, contact phenomena and variation phenomena bridge the gap between High German and Low German today.
