    Open Access•I Janković, James C M Ahern et al.•ARTICLE•Prilozi Instituta za arheologiju…•2024

Rad donosi rezultate arheoloških istraživanja nalazišta Abri Kontija 002 u sezoni 2022. i 2023. Istraživanja su provedena u sklopu projekta „Prapovijesni lovci i sakupljači u Istri i obližnjim regijama: obrasci života tijekom kasnog pleistocena“ (PREHISTRIA). Tijekom istraživanja pronađen je brojan arheološki materijal iz vremena kasnog pleistocena, uzeti su uzorci za provođenje različitih vrsta analiza (radiometrijsko datiranje, sediment za aDNA…

  • High data density electrical resistivity tomography survey for sediment depth estimation at the Romuald's Cave site

    Open Access•Rory Becker, I Janković et al.•ARTICLE•Archaeological Prospection•2019•References: 2

Electrical resistivity tomography (ERT) surveys were conducted at the Velika Pećina near Kličevica and Romuald's Cave sites in Croatia in 2014 and 2015. The goal of the surveys was to estimate sediment depth to bedrock. However, neither survey produced reliable results at the 0.5 m probe spacing. In 2017, the Romuald's Cave site was revisited utilizing a high data density survey of 0.1 m probe spacing. All three surveys were conducted with a GeoS…

  • New research on the Late Pleistocene in the Lim Channel, Istria

Open Access•I Janković, Darko Komšo et al.•ARTICLE•Antiquity•2017

As a part of the multidisciplinary project entitled 'Archaeological Investigations into the Late Pleistocene and Early Holocene of the Lim Channel, Istria', archaeological research has been conducted at four sites: Romuald's Cave, Abri Kontija 002, Pećina at Rovinjsko Selo and Lim 001 (Figure 1). There is much debate on issues related to biological and behavioural continuity, to patterns of changes and adaptations during this crucial period, and …

  • Shaft‐hole Axes From Slovenia and North‐western Croatia

Open Access•F Bernardini, Angelo De Min et al.•ARTICLE•Archaeometry•2009•Cited by: 4•References: 21

A group of Copper Age shaft‐hole axes from Caput Adriae (northeastern Italy, western Slovenia and northwestern Croatia) manufactured using meta‐dolerite have been analysed for major and trace elements. All the samples show magmatic textures and well recognizable relicts of primary mineralogical phases. Petrographic observations suggest an ophiolitic provenance of the protolithic source(s) while geochemical data indicate that the original magmas o…
