  • Ljubljansko barje v bronasti dobi

Kr

    Open Access•Anton Velušček, Mojca Horjak Šuštaršič•ARTICLE•Arheološki vestnik•2024

V prispevku so predstavljeni stratigrafski podatki in analiza arheoloških najdb, predvsem keramike, s kolišča Verd, odkritega leta 2022 na zahodnem robu Ljubljanskega barja.

V prispevku obravnavamo najdiščne okoliščine ornamentiranega bronastega bodala s polkrožno zaključeno ročajno ploščo z Iga in zgodnjebronastodobno keramiko z Ljubljanskega barja.

  • Comparing different sampling methods in order to reconstruct plant economies at the Eneolithic lake dwelling site Stare gmajne, Slovenia

    Open Access•Tjaša Tolar, Anton Velušček•ARTICLE•Documenta Praehistorica•2016•References: 7

The results of plant macroremains studies of the Eneolithic (c. 3160–3100 cal BC) lakeshore settlement at Stare gmajne on the Ljubljansko barje in Slovenia are presented. Archaeobotanical material was collected in two different ways: (1) systematic surface sampling from the cultural layer, and (2) judgement sampling from an incompletely burnt large loom-weight. The preservation state and the spectra of plant macroremains were different in both ty…

The studied shaft‐hole axes, characterized by homogeneous typology but slightly different raw materials, have been called ‘ L jubljana‐type’ axes ( L t). In the collected papers the results of the research on hilltop settlement Spaha above Brezovica pri Predgradu are introduced. The site was excavated by Greta Hirschbäck-Merhar during the years 1979 and 1984. Spaha was settled in the period of Sava group, Lasinja culture, horizon of pottery with furrowed incisions, and probably also in the period of Urnfield culture. In the 16th century on the top of Spaha a watchtower was erected, from which the …

  • Synchrotron Ftir Micro-Spectroscopy Applied to the Study of Polished Serpentinite Artefacts

Open Access•F Bernardini, Diane Eichert et al.•ARTICLE•Archaeometry•2011•Cited by: 3•References: 15

In prehistory, serpentinite was one of the most frequently used raw materials to produce polished stone artefacts. Several conventional analytical techniques can be applied to identify the serpentine minerals, but their application generally requires a powdered sample. This implies that the artefacts to be analysed must be damaged, and the possibility of analysing a mixture of different serpentine polytypes is high. The use of spatially resolved …

  • Shaft‐hole Axes From Caput Adriae

Open Access•F Bernardini, Angelo De Min et al.•ARTICLE•Archaeometry•2011•Cited by: 4•References: 16

The change of raw materials used to produce stone axes during the Neolithic to Copper Age transition in northeastern Italy, central and western Slovenia and northwestern Croatia (Caput Adriae) has been recently linked to the development of early European metallurgy. Serpentinite shaft‐hole axes occur commonly in the archaeological context of this region and their rounded irregular shape suggests that the raw material was mainly sourced from secon…

Spreml…

All the samples show magmatic textures and well recognizable relicts of primary mineralogical phases. Petrographic observations suggest an ophiolitic provenance of the protolithic source(s) while geochemical data indicate that the original magmas o…
