ADHD symptoms and substance use among young sexual minority men
Evaluation of the association between air pollution and academic performance in school-aged children in Australia
There is increasing international evidence that exposure to air pollutants such as particulate matter less than 2.5 μ ms in diameter (PM 2.5 ) and nitrogen dioxide (NO 2 ) may be associated with poorer performance in language and numeracy testing in children. This time-series ecological study evaluated the association between annual ambient PM 2.5 and NO 2 exposure and school-level National Assessment Program—Literacy and Numeracy (NAPLAN) scores…

Methamphetamine use is associated with increased risk of HIV infection among young sexual minority men (SMM). Post-exposure prophylaxis (PEP) is an effective strategy for individuals who are exposed to HIV, but there is limited research about PEP use among young SMM and its relationship with methamphetamine use. This study analyzes the association between ever PEP use and recent methamphetamine use among young SMM in New York City, using cross-se…
Sociodemographic characteristics, depressive symptoms, and increased frequency of intimate partner violence among LGBTQ people in the United States during the Covid-19 pandemic
Sociodemographic characteristics and depressive symptoms were assessed for their association with increased frequency of intimate partner violence (IPV) victimization since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic in a US sample of (N = 1,090) LGBTQ people, using an anonymous online survey. Among those (n = 98) endorsing IPV victimization in their current relationship, more than 18% reported increased frequency since the onset of the pandemic. Responde…

Age of Sexual Debut among Young Gay-identified Sexual Minority Men
Age of sexual debut is a critical health indicator for young sexual minority men (YSMM), associated with an increased likelihood of HIV acquisition, use of alcohol, tobacco, and other substances, and psychological distress. This study examined the age of same-sex sexual debut for five sexual behaviors in a sample of racially/ethnically and socioeconomically diverse gay-identified YSMM in New York City. The mean age of sexual debut of any behavior…
