Frederick II's crusade
Frederick II's crusade is unique in the bloody history of crusades for its success in recapturing Jerusalem through negotiations with the sultan of Egypt without any battles. Here Frederick II's diplomatic relations with Muslim rulers, particularly al-Kāmil, sultan of Egypt are reconstructed, by examining available sources in order to understand this crusade in terms of his long relationship with Muslim rulers

世界史,日本史の高等学校教科書(山川出版社)の人類学分野の記載について年代別に文字数,図版数,用語などをしらべ,時代変化の概要を把握した。世界史の「人類の起源」に関する記述は,1999年以降著しく減少していた。内容も正確さに欠ける面が見られた。一方,日本史の「日本人の起源」については,量的に顕著な変化は認められなかったが,相対的に縄文時代と旧石器時代の記載が減少し,弥生時代の記載が増加する傾向が見いだされた。世界史と日本史の教科書を総合的に見た場合,「人類の起源」および「日本列島にいたる人類の歴史」に関する内容は,明らかな減少が認められた。日本人類学会から教科書会社や教員へ向けた,ガイドブック等による情報提供が必要である
How Has the Human Origin Been Described in Science School Textbooks
高等学校理科の検定済教科書における自然人類学に関連した記述(1952年以降)について調査した。これまでの学習指導要領の改訂の機会に学会の新しい情報がどの程度改訂版の教科書に盛り込まれてきたかについてしらべたところ,更新された記述内容は必ずしもその時代の新しい知見を反映していなかった。最近2回の学習指導要領の改訂では,霊長類としてのヒトという視点から基礎事項の記述が充実してきていることが見出された。人類の起源と進化について理解し,生物としてのヒトの本質を知るために,どのような教材が適切か,どの程度最新の知見を考慮すべきかは難しい問題だが,複合領域としての特性を生かした記載がなされるよう,配慮がなされる必要があると思われる

Somatometric research was carried out in Lima, Peru, in 1995. Twenty one body measurements, 15 cephalic measurements and an outline of the right foot were taken. The number of people measured were 107, 41 men and 66 women. Subjects were chosen through a screening process based on their birthplace and the birthplace of their parents. In this article, I propose a new framework for understanding the administrative structure of France under Philip IV. I focus on baillis and seneschals, who were two types of major officials governing local districts (bailliages or sénéchaussées) in France by the late thirteenth century. A new apparatus of moiré iso-hypsigraphy was designed and produced to examine relatively small materials such as human skulls, innominate bones and scapulae. The parallel light source method producing moiré fringes was adopted, which is much appropriate for the small objects.
