世界史,日本史の高等学校教科書(山川出版社)の人類学分野の記載について年代別に文字数,図版数,用語などをしらべ,時代変化の概要を把握した。世界史の「人類の起源」に関する記述は,1999年以降著しく減少していた。内容も正確さに欠ける面が見られた。一方,日本史の「日本人の起源」については,量的に顕著な変化は認められなかったが,相対的に縄文時代と旧石器時代の記載が減少し,弥生時代の記載が増加する傾向が見いだされた。世界史と日本史の教科書を総合的に見た場合,「人類の起源」および「日本列島にいたる人類の歴史」に関する内容は,明らかな減少が認められた。日本人類学会から教科書会社や教員へ向けた,ガイドブック等による情報提供が必要である
