Hunting, fishing and animal husbandry at The Farm Beneath The Sand, western Greenland
A large and generally well preserved sample of animal bones was excavated at "The Farm Beneath The Sand" (Gården under Sandet, GUS) in the Norse Western Settlement in Greenland. The sample represents the entire period of occupation, from ea. AD 1000-1400 and could be divided into three time phases, allowing analysis of changes in the economy of the farm. Se valoran los restos de peces recuperados en Selso-Vestby, un yacimiento localizado en el fiordo de Roskilde en Dinamarca, datado entre los siglos VIII-XIII d.C. Parte de los materiales representan desechos procedentes de una planta medieval de procesado de arenques. La importancia de este clupeido en el oriente danés así como en la zona meridional del mar Báltico parece venir confirmada a través de hallazgos procedentes de otros yacimientos

Fishing in Denmark during the Ertebølle periodxs
Fishing in Denmark during the Ertebølle period is discussed on the basis of almost 100000 identified fishbones from 14 coastal and two inland settlements. Forty-one fish species were identified from coastal materials, 15 from inland ones.
