  • Teaching Internalization to Middle-Level Mental Health Workers in Training

    13 trainees enrolled in a process-oriented training program for middle-level mental health workers completed the I-E scale 1 mo. prior to enrollment and again 11 mo. later. Ss participated in 41 90-min. intensive group-counseling sessions which emphasized internalization and actuation of responsible behavior.   • Use of the Mmpi Underachievement Scale as an Aid in Counseling Academic Low Achievers in College

    47 high-achieving college students and 47 college dropouts were compared on the 24-item MMPI Underachievement Scale. The high achievers' mean score of 8.00 differed significantly ( p < .001) from the low achievers' mean score of 13.44. Probabilities of academic achievement level and score on the Underachievement Scale suggest that the scale may be useful in early detection of academic low achievement

    79 students enrolled in a process-oriented learning program for academic low achievers completed the CTMM 1 mo. prior to enrollment and again 14 wk. later.
