  • Comparative Analysis of Artificial Intelligence Virtual Assistant and Large Language Models in Post-Operative Care

    Open Access•Sahar Borna, Cesar A Gomez-Cabello et al.•ARTICLE•European Journal of Investigation…•2024

In postoperative care, patient education and follow-up are pivotal for enhancing the quality of care and satisfaction. Artificial intelligence virtual assistants (AIVA) and large language models (LLMs) like Google BARD and ChatGPT-4 offer avenues for addressing patient queries using natural language processing (NLP) techniques. However, the accuracy and appropriateness of the information vary across these platforms, necessitating a comparative st…

  • Polycentric Governance and Irrigation Reform in K enya

    Open Access•Elizabeth Baldwin, Camille Washington‐ottombre et al.•ARTICLE•Governance•2016

In K enya, as in many developing countries, centralized control over water resources was implemented to improve agricultural productivity. More recently, K enya has embarked on a series of reforms that create a polycentric approach to water governance, in which decision making about water resources is share…

  • A Cartographic History of Indian-White Government Relations during the Past 400 Years

Open Access•Daniel Cole, Daniel G Cole et al.•ARTICLE•American Indian Culture and…•2013

This is a historical cartographic analysis of Indian and Euro-American relations in the United States. We explore the threefold roles of government, academic, and tribal mapping, and bring them together with some findings. As can be seen, government and academia have shared cartographic data; both have learned from the tribes, and in turn, the tribes have learned from the others, not always to their well-being. All of these issues are involved in…

  • Overlapping Graduated Circles / Magnitude Estimation and Method of Portrayal

    Richard E Groop, Daniel Cole•ARTICLE•Cartographica The International…•1978

Overlap is a common occurrence on most graduated circle maps, but little is known about the relationship between overlap and circle size estimation. A psychophysical test was conducted using maps with varying amounts of circle overlap and different methods of overlap portrayal. Results indicate that "transparent" overlap portrayal is more effective in terms of estimation error than conventional "cut-out" circles. Le recouvrement est chose commune…
