Sociology in Russia
Soviet sociology was developed in the course of persistent struggle by researchers against political pressures exerted by the Communist Party of the Soviet Union and attempts to escape from the dogma of communist theory
The Rebirth of Sociology in Russia
In its more than 100 years of existence, sociology in Russia and in the Soviet Union has confronted a range of political barriers to its development, and has had difficulty in becoming integrated into the international sociological enterprise.
