  • Association between Covid-19 anxiety syndrome and Covid-19 vaccine hesitancy in the postpandemic era

Open Access•Timothy Chung Ming Wu, Jonathan Ka-Ming Ho et al.•ARTICLE•BMC Public Health•2025

Our findings revealed that CAS persists and CVH is common in the postpandemic era and that CAS is associated with CVH. Comprehensive interventions addressing both informational and psychological aspects are needed to increase the rate of vaccine acceptance and to mitigate the effect of CAS on public health outcomes

  • Cost-effectiveness of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease population screening in China

Open Access•Tiantian Zhang, Jiahuan Ai et al.•ARTICLE•BMC Public Health•2025

Despite the underlying uncertainty, annual two-step COPD population screening in China may probably be cost-effective compared with no screening and deserves further large-scale implementation

  • Examining family pre-pandemic influences on adolescent psychosocial wellbeing during the Covid-19 pandemic

    Open Access•Rosa S Wong, Keith T S Tung et al.•ARTICLE•Current Psychology•2024

  • Comorbidity of ADHD and allergic diseases in early adolescence

    Open Access•Rosa S Wong, Keith T S Tung et al.•ARTICLE•Current Psychology•2023

  • Association of genetic variants related to combined exposure to higher BMI and waist-to-hip ratio on lifelong cardiovascular risk in UK Biobank

Open Access•Eric Yuk Fai Wan, Wing Tung Fung et al.•ARTICLE•Public Health Nutrition•2023

Objective: This study examines the individual and combined association of BMI and waist-to-hip ratio (WHR) with CVD risk using genetic scores of the obesity measurements as proxies. Design: A 2 × 2 factorial analysis approach was applied, with participants divided into four groups of lifetime exposure to low BMI and WHR, high BMI, high WHR, and high BMI and WHR based on weighted genetic risk scores. The difference in CVD risk across groups was ev…

  • Changes in preterm birth and stillbirth during Covid-19 lockdowns in 26 countries

    Open Access•Clara Calvert, Meredith Brockway et al.•ARTICLE•Nature Human Behaviour•2023•Cited by: 1•References: 59

Preterm birth (PTB) is the leading cause of infant mortality worldwide. Changes in PTB rates, ranging from −90% to +30%, were reported in many countries following early COVID-19 pandemic response measures ('lockdowns'). It is unclear whether this variation reflects real differences in lockdown impacts, or perhaps differences in stillbirth rates and/or study designs. Here we present interrupted time series and meta-analyses using harmonized data f…

  • Using Latent Class Analyses to Examine Health Disparities among Young Children in Socially Disadvantaged Families during the Covid-19 Pandemic

    Open Access•Rosa S Wong, Keith T S Tung et al.•ARTICLE•International Journal of…•2022

Rising income inequality is strongly linked to health disparities, particularly in regions where uneven distribution of wealth and income has long been a concern. Despite emerging evidence of COVID-19-related health inequalities for adults, limited evidence is available for children and their parents. This study aimed to explore subtypes of families of preschoolers living in the disadvantaged neighborhoods of Hong Kong based on patterns of family…

  • Impact of Covid-19 Pandemic on School-Aged Children’s Physical Activity, Screen Time, and Sleep in Hong Kong

Open Access•Hung‐Kwan So, Gilbert T Chua et al.•ARTICLE•International Journal of…•2022

Despite concerns about the negative effects of social distancing and prolonged school closures on children's lifestyle and physical activity (PA) during the COVID-19 pandemic, robust evidence is lacking on the impact of the pandemic-related school closures and social distancing on children's wellbeing and daily life. This study aimed to examine changes in the PA levels, sleep patterns, and screen time of school-aged children during the different …

  • A Longitudinal Study of the Relation between Childhood Activities and Psychosocial Adjustment in Early Adolescence

    Open Access•Rosa S Wong, Keith T S Tung et al.•ARTICLE•International Journal of…•2021

Parent-child play time is important for healthy psychosocial development. More efforts should be directed to urge parents and caregivers to replace child-alone screen time with parent-child play time
