Treba čuti, vidjeti i dotaknuti: Može li etnografija razgraditi naracije straha
Autorica interpretira (posredovane i etnografski zabilježene) osobne naracije o prirodnoj nepogodi, ruinizaciji i regenerac…

In the post-Yugoslav cinema two feature films (Lea and Darija, 2011 and When Day Breaks, 2012) represent the cinematic paradigm shift …

The Shopping Center of Abnormal Normality: Ethnography of the Distribution Tent in the Refugee Camp in Slavonski Brod
In a critical anthropological approach, a refugee camp is seen as a space of “humanitarian government” (Agier 2011), where it is primarily humanitarian organizations, social services and police that cooperate, whereas refugees are a “disquieting element” (Agamben 1998), non-subjects whose free will, freedom of movement, speech and expression of their personality is reduced to a minimum. As ethnographers and volunteers, we saw the transit camp in …
Od postkolonijalizma do transnacionalizma: Izazovi postsocijalističke feminističke teorije
The article offers a reflection on the utility of postcolonial studies and transnational feminism for the analysis of women’s post-socialist experiences, with a special emphasis on Croatian academic and social space. After general considerations about the epistemological profile and etico-political agenda of transnational feminism – as illustrated by the results of the feminist seminar in Dubrovnik (2007–2015) – the author presents three theoreti…

This article focuses on the segment of socialist modernization connected with the industrial production of plastics, which developed largely as a result of women’s achievements, i.e. as the symbiosis of the early socialist culture of competition, (self-)discipline and (self-)correction of human flaws, and the patriarchal heritage that praised female virtues, such as readiness to sacrifice and to take responsibility for the prosperity of family an…
