Decomposing health inequality by dimensions and determinants in China using EQ-5D-5L
The EQ-5D-5L is a widely used measure of health status that has been increasingly applied to study health inequalities. Despite growing recognition of health as a multidimensional construct, few decomposition studies have simultaneously considered both health dimension and their determinants as sources of inequality. This study fills this gap by providing the first integrated decomposition of socioeconomic-related health inequality in China using…
Third Culture Kids in Denmark
This mixed-methods study is among the first to explore code-switching (CS) patterns within the broader context of translanguaging in a unique multilingual population, namely Third Culture Kids (TCKs), who are extensively socialised in English through schooling and the expatriate community. Data were collected from 188 TCKs enrolled in the International Baccalaureate Programme at the same international school in Denmark. Participants spoke 60 diff…
Conceptual framework for acute community health care services - Illustrated by assessing the development of services in Denmark
Acute community health care services can support continuity of care by acting as a bridge between the primary and secondary health care sectors in the early detection of acute disease and provision of treatment and care. Although acute community health care services are a political priority in many countries, the literature on their organization and effect is limited. We present a conceptual framework for describing acute community health care se…
A multi-factor study of the development of English receptive skills by young Danish children
This longitudinal study examined the influence of child-specific and environmental factors on the development of English receptive vocabulary and grammar by two groups of Danish children: Early Starters (ES) and Late Starters (LS). Age of onset, gender, language aptitude and SES significantly predicted both outcome measures. English competence beliefs (ECB) were positively related to L2 proficiency but only for children with low foreign language …
Roadmap for developing acute community health care services – illustrated with the development in Danish municipalities

Diminishing marginal disutility of hypoglycaemic events
Small Area Variation in Homeownership
The aim of the study is two-fold. First, it adds to the existing state-of-the-art housing research by suggesting the implementation of new econometric methodology. Specifically, the study adds to earlier studies of homeownership by adding spatial impacts. It advocates simultaneous adjustment for intra-municipal correlation and heterogeneity as well as spatial spillover patterns between municipalities. It concludes that ignorance of controlling fo…
Geographic and dynamic heterogeneity of home ownership
Outliers and Spatial Dependence in Cross-Sectional Regressions
Outliers are a risk factor in any econometric analysis. They are often observations that exert an excessive influence on the results and lower our confidence in the estimations. As a consequence, the attention given to their identification and treatment in the context of time series is not surprising. Our intention in the present paper is to advance in this same direction but now focusing the discussion on the impact of outliers on cross-sectiona…
A test strategy for spurious spatial regression, spatial nonstationarity, and spatial cointegration
The Institutional Context of Market Ideology
During recent decades, various versions of market practices have, in most nation states, diffused into the public sector. We analyse variations in the adoption of market ideologies and examine plausible explanations for these variations. Four managerial ideal types are constructed, based on their attitudes towards two dimensions of market ideology. Managerial attitudes and perceptions are conceived as embedded in a global process of diffusion hig…
