Nuclear energy is re-emerging in national decarbonization and energy-security debates, with energy strategy decisions increasingly influenced by public perceptions and societal feedback. • Sooner or later? The impact of child education on household consumption

    Open Access•Carmen Aina, Daniela Sonedda•ARTICLE•Empirical Economics•2022

We study the impact of one more year of child’s education on household (non-durable) consumption. We exploit an exogenous shock generated by a university reform in Italy in the early 2000s. Open Access•Carmen Aina, Massimiliano Bratti et al.•ARTICLE•Economia Politica•2020•References: 1

The Eduscopio project is the first attempt to build school performance indicators based on the university performance of high school leavers in Italy. It provides stakeholders (students and their families) with publicly available school performance indicators, and school rankings. A potential weakness of Eduscopio is that it relies on first-year student performance only. In this study, we extend its methodology to include longer-term academic out…

  • Delayed Graduation and Overeducation in Italy

    Open Access•Carmen Aina, Francesco Pastore•ARTICLE•Social Indicators Research•2020•Cited by: 2•References: 42

Exploiting the human capital versus screening hypothesis frameworks, this paper studies the link between delayed graduation and overeducation, and their effect on wages, by using the ISFOL-Plus data. The evidence lines towards predictions based on the signalling model. However, as to the determinants of overeducation the coefficient of delayed graduation is significant only for delays of 3 years or more and also controlling for the entire set of …
