Mediating the Vikings: Popular Culture, Character Types and Museum Audience Experiences
This article explores the dynamic interplay between Viking character types in popular culture and museum audiences. We examine how pervasive mediated Viking imagery shapes expectations, conceptualizing it as ‘character types’ activated in museum settings. In this article we examine and discuss the concept of prejudice (or prejudgment) as a scaffolding and self-efficacy method for a co-design process involving 10th-graders and two Danish cultural history museums. Location-based solutions in the experience centre
In this paper we present a prototype system for location-based guiding. A user survey has been conducted and the observations are used to support design choices. The prototype allows for both indoor and outdoor navigation at and in the vicinity of the NaturBornholm experience centre in Denmark using a combination of Bluetooth, Near Field Communication (NFC), GPS and QR codes.
