  • Accelerating integrated care through a Next Management Initiative for Digital Health

Open Access•Martin Gerard Curley, Richard E Straub et al.•ARTICLE•International Journal of…•2026

This presentation begins by outlining and briefly discussing seven critical problems and gaps in global integrated healthcare. These are the productivity gap, the resource gap, the equity gap, the adoption gap, the sustainability gap, the digital gap and the overarching gap, the management gap. This presentation then describes a grand coalition approach to tackle the overarching problem, the management gap based on key management insights from le…

  • Stay Left, Shift Left-10X – A new paradigm, policy, platform and practice for transforming global healthcare using patient-centred Digital Solutions

Open Access•Martin Curley, Jamesj Sheehan et al.•ARTICLE•International Journal of…•2025

Over the past two hundred years mankind has made remarkable progress in health with life expectancy more than doubling and global population growing ten fold or 10X. The epidemiological transition from communicable to chronic disease, originally described by Omron in 1971, coupled with clinical workforce shortage and attrition will force healthcare systems to evolve to a new paradigm. This new paradigm I call Stay Left, Shift Left-10X (SL2-10X) w…

  • The Digital Health/Wellness Capability Maturity Framework (DHW-CMF), a breakthrough tool to accelerate health systems evolution to better digitally enabled performance

Open Access•Martin Curley, John M Shaw et al.•ARTICLE•International Journal of…•2025

As a global society we have made remarkable progress over a period of two centuries to reduce mortality rates, extend life expectancy and deliver quality healthcare for many. However what has got us collectively to here will be insufficient and inadequate for the future as the Omron defined “epidemiological” transition to chronic disease continues, compounded by changing demographic trends and increasing clinician workforce shortages and attritio…

  • Co-designing the INHSU Prisons Hepatitis C Advocacy Toolkit using the Advocacy Strategy Framework

Open Access•Shelley Walker, Olivia Dawson et al.•ARTICLE•International Journal of Drug…•2024

The Toolkit holds promise for progressing the WHO elimination goals by increasing advocacy efforts for enhanced prison HCV services globally. The co-design of Toolkit resources with potential end-users has increased its potential accessibility, acceptability, and inclusivity for a globally diverse audience

  • Social and Economic Integration In Viking-Age Ireland

Jamesj Sheehan, John Sheehan•CHAPTER•Land, Sea and Home•2020

Silver hoards constitute one of the more important sources of archaeological evidence for the study of the Early Viking Age in Ireland. In Ireland, the Scandinavians encountered economic and political conditions that differed in several respects from those pertaining elsewhere. This chapter provides a brief and very general overview of Viking-age silver hoards in Ireland and. It uses the evidence of the hoards to examine issues of economic and so…

  • Assessing the comparative productivity advantage of bioenergy feedstocks at different latitudes

Open Access•Carlisle Ford Runge, Jamesj Sheehan et al.•ARTICLE•Environmental Research Letters•2012

We evaluate the comparative productivity of maize and sugarcane biofuel feedstocks as a function of latitude. Solar radiation for photosynthesis varies by latitude and contributes to differential productivity of tropical and temperate zones. We calculate comparative productivity in two ways—the amount of net sugar energy produced per unit area, and the amount produced per unit of net primary productivity (NPP). NPP measures the accumulation of en…

  • Energy and Environmental Aspects of Using Corn Stover for Fuel Ethanol

Open Access•Jamesj Sheehan, John Sheehan et al.•ARTICLE•Journal of Industrial Ecology•2003

Corn stover is the residue that is left behind after corn grain harvest. We have constructed a life‐cycle model that describes collecting corn stover in the state of Iowa, in the Midwest of the United States, for the production and use of a fuel mixture consisting of 85% ethanol/15% gasoline (known as “E85”) in a flexible‐fuel light‐duty vehicle. The model incorporates results from individual models for soil carbon dynamics, soil erosion, agronom…

  • Higher Education Reform in Romania

Thomas Owen Eisemon, Ioan Mihailescu et al.•ARTICLE•European Education•1999•References: 1

This paper reviews the crisis in Romanian universities since the country's political transition in 1989 and describes the government's strategy for revitalizing the higher education system. Attention is drawn to the expansion of access to higher education, the dramatic increase of enrollments in social science fields, the spontaneous establishment of private higher education institutions, and the many difficulties institutions are experiencing in…
