  • Climate Variables Related to the Incidence of Human Leishmaniosis in Montenegro in Southeastern Europe during Seven Decades (1945–2014)

    Open Access•Sanja Medenica, Nataša Miladinović-Tasić et al.•ARTICLE•International Journal of…•2023

Leishmaniosis (or leishmaniasis) is a neglected parasitosis most commonly transmitted by the sandfly bite. Changes in temperature, precipitation, and humidity can greatly affect the vectors and reservoir hosts. This study aimed to determine the association between temperature, air humidity, and weather conditions with the incidence of leishmaniasis in Montenegro during a seven-decade period (1945-2014) and to statistically compare and correlate t…

  • The potential of lemon balm (Melissa officinalis L.) essential oil as an anti-anxiety agent – is the citronellal the activity carrier

    Open Access•Nikola M Stojanović, Marko Z Mladenović et al.•ARTICLE•Journal of Ethnopharmacology•2023

In conclusion, we could say that the results of the present study provide a base for future mechanistic studies that would evaluate the activity of M. officinalis essential oil on various neurotransmitter systems involved in the generation, propagation, and maintenance of anxiety

  • Lemon balm (Melissa officinalis L.) essential oil and citronellal modulate anxiety-related symptoms – In vitro and in vivo studies

    Open Access•Nikola M Stojanović, Marko Z Mladenović et al.•ARTICLE•Journal of Ethnopharmacology•2022

  • Initial sequencing and analysis of the human genome

Open Access•Lauren Linton, Bruce W Birren et al.•ARTICLE•Nature•2001

The human genome holds an extraordinary trove of information about human development, physiology, medicine and evolution. Here we report the results of an international collaboration to produce and make freely available a draft sequence of the human genome. We also present an initial analysis of the data, describing some of the insights that can be gleaned from the sequence.
